Case Studies - Individual Coaching
A well established speaker - The president of a major US
international institution was already an excellent speaker,
making speeches to Congress and elsewhere. He hired us to
train him and his board because we taught him the techniques
of reading verbatim from a script so well that the audience
didn’t know it. He quickly realised that this was going to
save him precious time yet raise his performance. He also
appreciated that the difference from competent to
outstanding is really quite small perhaps 5%. A scratch
golfer like Tiger Woods also uses a coach to get that
winning 5%
Competent but with a desire to improve - A senior manager
needed to widen his skills to be promoted to partner. Part
of the coaching was to improve his presentation skills. The
other aspect was to improve his people handling skills in
terms of gaining rapport and building relationships.
Newly appointed CEOs
- A new managing partner of one of Britain’s largest
firms needed to raise his presentation profile and be
able to speak effectively in a wide range of situations.
His busy schedule meant that coaching sessions had to be
brief but effective.
- A CEO designate of a FTSE 250 firm wished to improve
his presentation skills when talking to city analysts
and the press. He also wished to talk at conferences to
raise his firm's profile
- A high profile government servant refreshed his
presentation and media handling skills before starting
in his new role
